Formula pulled from shelves
SCRANTON - Price Chopper Supermarkets has joined Wal-Mart and Walgreens Co. in issuing a voluntary recall of Enfamil 12.5-once Newborn formula manufactured by Mead Johnson.
While neither federal authorities nor the manufacturer have issued a recall, Price Chopper took the step because of the possible presence of the bacterium Cronobacter, which may be connected to the death of an infant in Missouri. The formula was sold between Nov. 2 and Dec. 22 and has the UPC 30087510051. Customers may return the product to their local Price Chopper for a full refund. For more information, visit pricechopper.com or call Price Chopper at 1-800-666-7667, option 3.
More taking long holiday trips
NEW YORK - More Americans are expected to take long trips this holiday season - and in many parts of the country it looks to be smooth sailing.
About 92 million people will travel 50 miles or more from Friday through Jan. 2, an increase of 1.4 percent more than last year, according to AAA. The federation of motor clubs said 90 percent will travel by car.
