What are the best mutual funds with LOW minimum initial investment?

I only have 3,000 dollars to invest and would like to diversify in other things besides just one mutual fund (I noticed the average minimum initial investments are 2,000).

My dad is big on T. ROWE Price and specifically somebody suggested

the Hodges Fund symbol HDPMX. With the small sum of 250 dollars you can open an account with Hodges.
I am a fan of Royce funds but they have a 1000 minimum.
Your dad knows what he is talking about.

The Fund Manager is Daniel G. Loughran and he has managed this municipal bond mutual fund since 2002.

Invesco High Income Municipal A (AHMAX) invests in a diversified portfolio of municipal securities. The majority of the fund's assets are invested in municipal bond securities that are rated BBB/Baa or lower by Standard & Poor's Ratings Services or other nationally renowned rating firms. The municipal bond mutual fund returned 6.04% in the last one year period.
